“Does that man I can get another cookie?” Already quick to go right after that food once more. If Santa forgave other kids for worse, why not forgive an extra cookie? He enjoyed them too. So he’d have no qualms with her munching another. “Santa eats them too. It’ll be okay.”
“..Serah.” he tries to hide the hurt in his voice, golden eyes glued to the floor. A frown twitches at his lips, but quickly it turns into a forced smile, gaze looking back at the little pinkette. “I’m not Santa but, can you at least eat one healthy thing? Then, i’ll give you the cookie! But please, for me?”
The tears would stop, but she was still upset, very much so. All she wanted was to be on Santa’s nice list, to be gifted from her idol. Yet she had ruined Christmas. Only because she ate a cookie. “Will he? I-I don’t want Santa to hate me…”
“K-Kids have done worse to get on the naughty list. You’re safe Serah, don’t worry.” she was a handful at times, however most younger siblings were. Bending down on one knee, he lightly ruffles pink locks. “I promise, okay? Santa will forgive you, he could never hate you. You’re a sweet kid.”
As soon as he raised her voice, threatened her idol being a no-show, her optics filled with tears. He had messed up, terribly. She was not a cry baby, sure, she faked it to get his attention, but this was true sorrow. “I-I only wanted to eat it… I-I’m sorry. Santa won’t come now, right? I ruined Christmas!” Cue quiet sniffles as she hides her face in her tiny palms.
Pure horror captured his features. No. Not the tears, they always left him completely powerless. Lance wasn’t the brightest of children, in reality he ruined christmas not her, now Santa would be mad at him. “T-There’s still time to redeem yourself! Please don’t cry Serah! Santa will forgive you!”
“You don’t know Santa! Do not lie!” With sneaky hands, the girl whisked the other half of the cookie out of his hands, taking both halves. One half would be in her mouth, already, and the other soon chipmunking into her other cheek. She can’t be stopped.
“Serah!” But it was too late, she had already snatched the cookie from his hands and was chomping away. It was extremely frustrating that she never listens to him, when in reality he just cared so much for her.Frowning, he crosses his arms looking down, “Now he’s not coming, you didn’t listen.”
With a whine, the child put the treat back. Once it was out of her tiny hands and back into the jar, she turned to pout at her older brother. Arms crossed along her chest, she began to speak in an almost monotone voice. “Lance… I just want one! Please don’t tell Santa.”
“Hmm, well me and him are close buds. How can I hide something like this from the big man at the north pole?” Cookies wouldn’t help in her sickly condition, eating healthier would surely improve her immune system, hopefully.“Alright. I’ll let you have half of a cookie, Santa won’t be so upset then.”
He crosses his arms, looking down at the little girl. “Serah, Santa wouldn’t like you stealing from the cookie jar, put it back.” Since she almost never listens to him, perhaps she’ll listen to a fat guy who gives out presents.
